He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett O. Walvoord and Letha L. Walvoord; and his brother Jim Wissel. He is survived by: his wife Loretta; his children, Gary Wissel (Kristin) and Jennifer McDougall (Clif); his sister Carol Ringland (Leonard); and his sister-in-law Marilyn Wissel. He is also survived by grandchildren; great grandchildren; and nieces & nephews.
