He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandfathers, George Koontz of Washington and Frederick Augustus Ware; his parents, Alva Glenn and Mable Irene Koontz (Ware); his wife Laura; his brothers, Alva Glenn Koontz Jr. (Alene) and James Koontz (Margaret); his sister-in-law Martha Lee Brown (Taylor); his children, Allan (Mary Kay Koontz) and Moray (Douglas Greenfield) of Altadena, CA.; his grandchildren, Chase Greenfield of Altadena, CA, Heidi Bellner of Swanton, OH, Allison (Nathan Luce) of Haskins, OH, Jeff Guiducci Koontz (Carmelia Chiang), Cascais and Evan (Jessica Koontz) of Perrysburg, OH.; his great grandchildren, Riley, Ethan Bellner, Devin, Eleanor, Madeliene Luce, Brianna Chavez and Jocelyn Koontz; and his brother-in-law Thomas C. Brown Sr..
