He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Riggs and Mary Riggs; his wife Patricia; and his daughter-in-law Teresa. He is survived by: his granddaughter Amanda; his children, George Jr. (Sandy), Gary (Melanie), Mark and Stacy; and his siblings-in-law, Melvin Parke (Carole) and Kristen Riggs. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home (4040 A St, Lincoln, NE 68510). A rosary was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 6:30 AM at the St Patrick's Church (6120 Morrill Ave, Lincoln, NE 68507). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (6120 Morrill Ave, Lincoln, NE 68507).
