He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Harry Hopp and Glenis Maria Hopp (Holtgrewe); and his brother Mark. He is survived by: his wife Kathy of Lincoln; his sons, Andrew (Stephanie) of Gretna, Neb. and Brian (Jamie) of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Ethan, Ashleigh, Kaitlyn of Gretna, Alaina and Atalie of Lincoln; his siblings-in-law, Julie Hopp of Dunbar, Neb., Laurie Rathbun (Larry) of Sedona and Cory Amend (Tracy); his uncle Virgil Holtgrewe of Loveland, Colo; and his nephews, Chris Hopp of Hutchinson, Kan and David Hopp (Ally) of Omaha.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Edenton Christian Church (7001 Edenton Rd, Lincoln, NE 68516).
Gifts to honor Gerald's life will be directed to the Itha T. Krumme Arboretum and the Parkinson's Foundation.
