He is survived by: his wife Valarine Bernadine Laigast Thomas; his children, Gustave Thomas V of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Christopher Thomas (Lisa) of Yankton, Dawna Trautman of Las Vegas, Nevada and Rachel Zeleny (Lance) of Sergeant Bluff; his grandchildren, Lauren Kadel (Jacob), Jacob Thomas, Betsy Semmler (Dan), Brandon Trautman (Tabitha), Taylor Trautman, Jack Zeleny, Faith Zeleny and Hope Zeleny; and his sisters, Pam Metzler (Ronnie Stoltz), Joy Richardson (Dave), Christine Barnes (Melvin) and Lisa Haas (Kevin). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, his golden doodles.
