He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Omtvedt and Irene Omtvedt (Nelson); his wife Wanda Rank; and his siblings, Ralph Omtvedt and Cleo Taft.

He is survived by: his children, Mark Omtvedt (Tamara) of Kearney and Penny Grossenbacher (Doug) of Overland Park, Kansas; his grandchildren, Brooke Fairchild (Jordan) of Olathe, Carmen Page (Daniel) of Clarksville, Sydney and Thomas Omtvedt of Bentonville, Arkansas; and his great grandchildren, Kasen Douglas, Hudson, Hallie Fairchild and Madilyn Page.

He even organized covert bridge games and birthday parties during the COVID lockdown, finding creative ways to socialize and connect.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mark's United Methodist Foundation, Grand Lodge Scholarship Fund, or the University of Nebraska Foundation.
