He is survived by: his children, Kevin Carl Kern of Lincoln, Corey Lee Kern of Lincoln and Katie Lynn Kern of Lincoln; his close friend Vicki Walter-Winters; his siblings, Thomas L. Kern (Jan) of Folsom, CA, John E. Kern of New York, NY and Alice J. Kern of Springfield, IL; and his brother-in-law Thomas Nelson of Columbus, NE. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
