It is with sadness that the passing of Janet Waage Lingren of Lincoln, Nebraska is shared. Janet, born on October 24, 1937, passed away on August 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Irwin Waage and Helen Waage (Peterson); her son Bruce; and her sister Marjorie Spranger. She is survived by: her children, Diana Lingren, Lincoln, Sharon Lingren Meschi (Mansour) of Moreno Valley, CA and Mark Lingren (Dorothy) of Carmichael, CA; her grandchildren, Sean Lingren (Stephanie Xiao) of South Pasadena, CA, Mattin Meschi of Ashland, OR, Sophia Lingren Harano (Jacob Ranjbaran), Lincoln, Shannon Lingren (Eric) and Tarra Meschi (Jordon Lim) of Irvine, CA; her great grandchildren, Sebastian Lingren (Sweden) and Lucy Lingren (California); and her sister Marilyn Sheahan of Elmhurst, IL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM and on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 3:00 PM.
Memorial gifts can be made to the Herb Lingren Memorial Fund at the University of Nebraska Foundation, the Norden Club Foundation of Lincoln, the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, or UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief).
