He was predeceased by: his parents, Lines V. Smith and Louisa Fern Smith (Knox); his wife Charlotte I. Smith; his siblings, Constance Gake and Jean Paul Smith; and his granddaughter Christina Lewis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Paula Little (David) of Rusk, Texas, Gail Lewis (David) of Village, Terri Armfield (late Ted) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Pamela Samuelson (William) of Lake Forest, California; and his nieces, Melanie Smith and Kimberly Smith. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren.
