He was predeceased by: his parents, William Kool and Alice Kool (Kersbergen); and his niece Julie Hodge (Kool). He is survived by: his wife Phyllis (Lincoln); his children, Bill Kool (Suzie) of Elkridge, MD, Alison Garcia (Rick) of Chicago, IL and Veronica Jones (Kyle) of Lincoln, NE; his grandchildren, Kayla, Johnny, Josh, Alicia and Ellie; and his siblings, Paul Kool (Sharon) of Newton, IA, Norman Kool (Jackie) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Mary Goecke (Ron) of State Center, IA, Helen Kaldenberg (Gene) of Reasnor, IA, Joan Kool of Newton, IA and Jim Kool of Newton, IA. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to North American Martyrs Church (Lincoln, NE), Church of the Holy Spirit (Plattsmouth, NE), or Intergenerational Orchestra (IGO) (Omaha, NE) in honor of his memory.
