It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Battiste Jr. of Lincoln, Nebraska, born in Warren, Ohio, who passed away on June 15, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph and Mary Battiste Sr. (Chicone); his wife Beverly; his granddaughter Chaznei Ziemann; and his siblings, Faline Battiste, Vincent and Leslie Battiste.
He is survived by: his children, Dan Johnson (Rebecca), Wendy Nelson, Lincoln and Justina Ziemann (Brian); and his grandchildren, Derrick Nelson (Ali), Drake Nelson (Ginger), Dawnelle Persinger (Alan), Chaddwick Ziemann (Erica), Chauncey Ziemann (Taylor) and Chanasei Ziemann.
