He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Goranson and Geraldine Goranson; his stepmothers, Sheila Goranson and Lillian Stuewe; and his grandparents, Harry, Ellen Goranson, Carl and Mila Berg.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Fleming; his sons, Justin Goranson (Cindy) of Seward and Wesley Goranson (Abbie) of Omaha, Nebraska.; his grandchildren, Mila, Scarlett, Baylor, Claire and Quinn; his siblings, Mark Goranson (Sue) of Red Oak, Iowa and Joanie Pfeifer (Al) of Elkhorn, Nebraska; his brother-in-law Morris Fleming (Marsha) of Emerson, Iowa; and his aunt Carolyn Quist of Red Oak. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
