It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kris K. Mortensen of Lincoln, Nebraska, born in Albion, Nebraska, who passed away on December 11, 2023, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Kermit Mortensen and Myrtle Mortensen (Peterson); his grandson Vincent; and his siblings, Kermit and Mary.

He is survived by: his children, Shawn Mortensen (Kim), Leah Davis, Andy Mortensen (Mandy) and McKenzie Potthoff (Tony); his former wife Cheryl Gray; his grandchildren, Kiera, Tyra, Elicia, Chelsey, Sophia, Christian, Cambria, Simon and Otto; his great grandchild Bryson; his siblings-in-law, Orv Qualsett, Lynn Mortensen and Karla Houfek; and his close friend Demi.

Memorial donations will be used for the Kris Mortensen scholarship fund to honor his legacy and commitment to education.
