He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Christy and Beulah Gerheim Christy; and his stepfather Ray Swartzendruber. He is survived by: his wife Margaret (Maggie); his daughters, Anna Christy of Lincoln and Laura Leitnaker (Tim) of Cedar Point, KS; his grandsons, Wyatt and Jack of Kansas; and his sister Mary Renee Chi (John) of Pittsburgh, PA.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
