He is survived by: his parents, Regina Papakee of Tama and Merlin Choneska, Sr. of Mescalero, NM; his siblings, Merlin Choneska Jr. (Cheyenne), Marlena Clark (Kauila), Marion Choneska and Lanie Negrete; and his aunts and uncles, Wynell Geronimo (family: Zeno Enjady, Collins Enjady, Bonna Dell Ortega, Gene Enjady, April Sanchez, Marketa Martine) and Cathy Sampson. He is also survived by family, Zeno Enjady and family, Collins Enjady and family, Bonna Dell Ortega and family, Gene Enjady and family.

A wake was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 at the Eagle Clan Ceremonial Building (150 Meskwaki Rd, Tama, IA 52339). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the McIntosh Cemetery.
