He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Packett and Ruth Packett (Hardy); his wife Virginia; and his sisters, Marilyn Vogt and Karolyn Elsner.

He is survived by: his children, Susan Wilber (Mike), Scott Packett (Sue) and Sharon Votava (Doug). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
