He was predeceased by: his parents, Rodney Whittemore and Sara Whittemore (Upton); his wife Peggy; and his sister Lynne Oenbring. He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey L. Whittemore (Nancy) and Tracy A. Whittemore of Lincoln; his granddaughters, Elizabeth D. Brown, Chelsea Whittemore and Cassie Whittemore; his great grandchildren, Brylee Baker, Camryn Payne, Ashley Brown and Landyn Brown; and his great great grandchildren, Hazel Mae Payne and Lila Wren Payne.
