He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Abelbeck and Mabel Abelbeck; his brother Stewart Abelbeck; and his brother-in-law Jeffrey L Biegert. He is survived by: his wife Marjorie; his sisters, Sally Y. Biegert of Greenwood Village, CO and Rachelle Neemann (Delton) of Hastings, NE; his sister-in-law Michelle Abelbeck of Grand Island, NE; his siblings' children, Lindsey Biegert-McCray (Scott), Natasha (Matt), Kelsey Cunningham (Brent) of Fort Worth, TX. and Austin Abelbeck (Katy) of Leawood, KS; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Reagan, Colby, Jeffrey Harris, Audrey, Madeleine McCray, Olivia, Grayson Cunningham, Charlotte, Anniston and Cora Abelbeck; his aunt Arlene Matthiesen of Sioux Falls, SD; and also, Stewart, Sally and Rachelle.
