With sadness, we share the passing of Richard Dean Longacre of Lincoln, Nebraska. Richard, born on July 16, 1933 in Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on August 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Allan Longacre and Maxine Longacre (Moore); his son Steve Longacre; his nephew Jeff Estes; his sister-in-law Barb Longacre; and his brother Gary LaRue.
He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Cindy Switzer (Cliff) and Mark Longacre (Kathy); his siblings, Cheryl Estes, Allan Longacre and Florine LaRue; his sister-in-law Betty LaRue; his grandchildren, Kellen Petersen (Kelly), Katie Fowler (Nathan), Heidi Bentle (Alex), Matt Longacre (Mallory) and Adam Longacre (Paige); his great grandchildren, Braxton Petersen, Archer Petersen, Ryker Petersen, Grayson Fowler, Moriah Fowler, Wyatt Longacre, Blake Longacre and Juliet Longacre; and his nieces, Jodi Estes, Kim Longacre (James Foster) and Kate Harvey (Don). He is also survived by his family, friends.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Eastmont Performing Arts Center (6315 O St, Lincoln, NE 68510).
