He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. M. U. Burton and Elisebeth Gist Burton; and his sister Betty June Kentopp. He is survived by: his wife Judith F. Burton; his brother Thomas Burton of Falls City, NE; his children, Anne Reavis Burton (Christopher) of Denver, CO and James F. Burton of Miami, FL; and his grandchildren, Isabel Burton, William Burton, Camila Burton and Lucia Burton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
