He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Irvin and Lucille Marie Hicks (Russell). He is survived by: his wife Kay Joan Pearson of Lincoln; his children, Jill Hicks (Joe Osterhaus) of Lincoln and David Hicks (Jodi) of DeWitt; his grandchildren, Maci Poland (Michael) and Carson Hicks (Julia Graff); his great grandchild Myer Poland; his sister Mary Lu McCoy (Jack McVicker) of Omaha; and his sister-in-law Joy Pearson of Henning, MN. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial has been established to the Diller-Odell, Johnson-Brock, and Palmyra-Bennet School Foundations, and the Tri-County FFA program with the funeral home in charge.
