We announce the death of Ruth A Abbott of Lincoln, Nebraska, who passed away on October 20, 2026, at the age of 98. Ruth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Whitlatch and E. Olive Whitlatch (Hookham); her siblings, Joe Whitlatch (Becky), Eddy Whitlatch (Verna), Pearl Tinnean (Roland) and Grace Boller (Ashley); and her husband John L. Abbott.
She is survived by: her daughter Doris Rathje (Ron) of York, NE; her grandchildren, Matt Rathje (Traci) and Marty Rathje (Sara); and her great grandchildren, Jackson of Lincoln, Harper of Lincoln, Mason of Lincoln, Brea of Lincoln and Leighton Rathje of Lincoln.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home (4040 A St, Lincoln, NE 68510). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Redeemer Lutheran Church (510 S 33rd St, Lincoln, NE 68510).
