He is survived by: his parents, Matthew Schmitt and Edna Schmitt (Cote) of Beatrice; his brother Jeremy Schmitt of Rockford; his partner Jacque Dreeszen; and his aunts, Ann Sharpe (Art), Mary Schmitt, Pauline Cassel, Regina Nelson, Dorothy Chaput (Tom), Mary Newton (Gale), Loretta Newton (Jim), Joan McNeil (Mel), Janet Nease (Brad), Martha Tatum (Bo) and Lois Schletzbaum (Karl).
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Fox Funeral Home (1116 N 19th St, Beatrice, NE 68310). A Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (612 High St, Beatrice, NE 68310).
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family's choice.
