He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Russell and Helen Russell; his son Jerry Russell; and his siblings, Larry, Ronald and Betty.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his daughter Jill Van Dusen (Jeff); his grandchildren, Corbin Van Dusen (Ali) of Elkhorn, NE, Chris Van Dusen (Alexa Fernandez) of La Vista, NE, Camryn Van Dusen (Tyler Woodward) of Springfield, NE and Jherika Vodicka (Devin) of Surprise, NE.; and his great grandchildren, Jaxtyn and Brixtyn Vodicka.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Marks Methodist Church (8550 Pioneers Blvd, Lincoln, NE 68520).
