He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest "Jack" VanZandt and Doris VanZandt (Robinson); his parents-in-law, Edward and Evelyn Kriss; his sister Connie Hanna (Cliff); and his brothers-in-law, Don Mohr and Gaylen Austin.
He is survived by: his wife Eileen; his children, Alan VanZandt (Miguel Dominguez) of St. Joseph, MO and Ann Krotter (Joe) of O'Neill, NE; his grandchildren, Allie Krotter, Jack Krotter and James Krotter; and his sister Janette Austin of Sargent, NE. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials are designated to the Alzheimer's Association or Lincoln Public Schools Foundation for the Riley Elementary School's Garden Fund.
