It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steven D. Roper of Lincoln, Nebraska, who passed away on May 12, 2026, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Steven D. Roper to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Roper and Sylvia Roper (Mills); and his wife Esther Strain. He is survived by: his sister Deborah Blacketer (Kelly); his stepchildren, Richard Carney, Patricia Dickinson and Shawna Carlson (Brian); and his grandchildren, Aaron (HolliAnn), Naomi (Nathan), Cassandra (Hunter), Junior, Mathew, Racheal and Trinity. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home (6800 S 14th St, Lincoln, NE 68512). A burial will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 at the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery (6700 S 14th St, Lincoln, NE 68512).
Memorials may be given to the family for future designation.
