She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Mary of Sonoma, Sarah of Austin and Robert of Kalispell, Montana; and her siblings, Pete Smith of Washington, DC, Steve Smith of Santa Rosa and Sarah Neff of Cedar Rapids, Iowa..

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center, Chet Ager Nature Center, and the Nebraska Wildlife Federation.
