He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Mathes and Lois Mathes; and his brother Chuck. He is survived by: his niece Amber Mathes; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ayvon Woullard and Lettie Mathes; his brother Jim (Ann); his nephew Ben Mathes; and his niece Jessica Carpenter.
