He was predeceased by: his parents, David Jurgens and Phyllis Jurgens (Seckman); his brother Gary Jurgens; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Thomas and Luke Kyncl; his parents-in-law, Norman and Eleanor Malchow; and his brother-in-law Chuck Hixson.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Malchow; his children, Jaci Burt (Marc), Cami Berglund (Martin), Tadd Jurgens and Tori Kyncl; his grandchildren, Tanner Burt, Walker Burt (Sydnie), Sophia Berglund, Gage Burt, Gavin Burt, Trevor Jurgens, Julia Berglund, Jack Kyncl and Emma Kyncl; his siblings, Sandi Hixon, Dave Jurgens and Ron Jurgens (Susie); and his sisters-in-law, Sheryl Malchow and Sue Engler (Joe).
