She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Maahs and Thelma Maahs (York); her brother Kendall Maahs; her daughter Debra Lynne Buel; her former husband Ivan Buel; her daughter Christie Taylor; her grandson Brandon Taylor; and her foster sister Hazel Stratmann.

She is survived by: her husband Jack Carper; her son Kevin Carper; her son-in-law Ray Taylor; and her grandsons, Travis Taylor, Trevor Taylor (Kelley) and Matt Carper (Heidi). She is also survived by four great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
