With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wayne Lee Matthes of Lincoln, Nebraska, who passed away on January 8, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi Matthes and Frances Matthes; his sons, Gregory and Christoper; and his grandchildren, Caley and Christoper.

He is survived by: his wife Anne Classen; his sons, Mark Matthes (Julie) of Scottsdale, AZ, Jeffrey Matthes (Janet) of Lincoln, Todd Matthes (Susan) of Lake Dallas, TX and Kurt Matthes (Cara) of Lincoln, NE; his grandchildren, Michelle, Trevor, Joseph, Cody, Jennifer, Anna Fair, Elise, Celeste, Charles, Frances and Lydia; and his great grandchildren, Hunter, James, Kairi and Mela.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Pius X High School.
