It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anita Mata of Lyman, Nebraska, who passed away on September 15, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Anita departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Anita. Though Anita may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her husband Ejinio Mata Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Edward P. Mata, Monica Mata (Ryan Lenhart), Melinda Mata, Sonja Bonine (Rhyan Bonine) and Corinna Conde (Carlos Conde). She is also survived by her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the St. Theresa's Catholic Church (1715 17th St, Mitchell, NE 69357). A rosary was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Theresa Catholic Church (1715 17th St, Mitchell, NE 69357).
