It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steve Hastreiter of Madison, Nebraska, who passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 50, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Laurel Hastreiter (Jansen). He is survived by: his father James Hastreiter of Madison; his daughters, Rebecca and Caitlyn; and his siblings, Jane Brandenbruger (Tim) of Madison, Larry Hastreiter of Madison, Rhonda Stoffel (Robert) of Madison and Sandra Rozmiarek (Brent) of Humphrey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Leonard's Catholic Church (504 S Nebraska St, Madison, NE 68748). A vigil service was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
