She is survived by: her daughter Daina Markussen of Madrid; her siblings, Barb Harrington of Ovid, Buck Markussen (Judy) of Ogallala, Connie Biggs of Norton, Bev Hollingsworth of Sedgwick, Sandy Talley of Ogallala and Terrie Hollingsworth of Sedgwick, Colorado; and her brother-in-law Gary Hershfeldt of Holyoke, Colorado. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial has been established in Phyllis's memory for later designation.
