She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles W. Murfin and Alvina K. Murfin (Wendte); her former husband Wilford "Bud" Strohm; her husband Darrell Nelson; her daughter Patricia Lund; and her siblings, Norah Bolton, Norman and Dale Murfin.
She is survived by: her daughter Janice Newton (Lowell) of Emerson, Nebraska; and her grandchildren, Brian Newton (Michell), William "Bill" Newton (Cheryl), Annette Williams (Kenny), Wayne Newton (Sandy) and Kiela Hudgins (Brian). She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
