He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley E. Neel and Margaret D. Neel (Barber); his brother Russell; and his father-in-law Wayne Gates. He is survived by: his sons, Joshua Wayne (Amanda) of McCook, Ira James of Gothenburg, Tyler Scott (Hope) of McCook and Bret Andrew (Ariel) of McCook; his wife Patricia Gates; his grandchildren, Faith of McCook, Levi of McCook, Jacob of McCook, MacKenzie of McCook, Oliver of McCook, Sara of McCook, Rilie of McCook, Lauren of McCook and Dawson Neel of McCook; his siblings, Richard Neel (Joyce) of McCook and Carlyn Burkholder (David) of North Platte; his mother-in-law Margaret Gates of Palisade; and his brother-in-law Kirk Gates of Palisade. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
