He was predeceased by: his sisters, Joyce Moore (Gordon) and Linda Higgason (Randy). He is survived by: his wife Joyce Mitchell; his children, Mike and Kim Niemeth (Jerry); his sister Sue Howitt; and his grandchildren, Jesse Niemeth (Amanda), Kati Latulip, Kelly Huffman (Kevin Dasher) and MaChelle Sondergaard (Breven). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice in Gary's memory.
