He was predeceased by: his parents, Porter, Jr. Ross and Mabel M. Ross (Wudtke); his grandparents, Gus and Teresa Wudtke; and his in-laws, Mabel M. Burton (McBrien) and Orville E. Burton.

He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Burton; his children, Mike (Bonnie) of Conifer, CO, Tonia of Rockport, TX and Billie Jo Hueftle (Todd) of McCook; his extended family, Kevin Hayes, Matt Banda (Lauren), Ben Propp and Heath Hamilton; his grandchildren, Mikayla, Lisa, Tasha, Silver, Zach, Selah, Arrowlinn, Haven, Briella, Cali, Blake, Sophia, Dylan, Dawn, Cameron and Molly; and his great great grandchild Alani Jade.

Memorials are suggested to the McCook Humane Society in Jim's name.
