She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Peter and Anastasia Christina Kotschwar (Wasia); her husband Wayne Donald Ely; and her siblings, Laurine Channel, Ruth Vielh, Thelma Duckworth, Alice Carlson, Shirley Slack, Jackie Boehm, Phyllis Traphagan, Don, Bud and Jiggs Kotschwar.
She is survived by: her son Mark Ely (Christine Klein) of Boulder, Colorado; her brother Kent Kotschwar of McCook; her grandchildren, Joshua Beideck (Lisa) of McCook and Ashley Curtis (Dustin) of Columbus, Nebraska; and her great grandchildren, Haley, Koral Beideck, Kyah and Lathan Curtis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Laverna's name are suggested to the McCook Heritage Senior Center, P.O. Box 1059, McCook, NE 69001.
