She was predeceased by: her parents, George Cain and Dorothy Cain (Doyle); her siblings, Bill Cain (Geneva) and Vivian Hockman (Steve); her nephew Jesse Cain; her nieces, Sylvia "Joyce" Cain and Barbara Crouse; and her friend Mary Poore.

She is survived by: her former husband Robert Hawkins; her husband Dick Tyrell; her stepdaughters, Cyndie and Debra; her nephews, Robert Hockman (Beth Bryson) of Texas, Russell Hockman (Patricia) of Georgia, Dennis Cain of McCook and Wesley Cain (Nadine) of McCook; and her niece Cindy Stark of McCook.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Heritage Senior in McCook or to the Museum of the High Plains in McCook where Lois volunteered for a number of years.
