She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Brust and Lettie Brust (Mason); her grandparents, Rev. James, Susan Mason (Taylor), Phillip and Leasettie Brust (Smith); and her sister Shirley Brust.
She is survived by: her husband John J Hawkins; her children, John P. Hawkins of McCook, James T. Hawkins (Elizabeth) of San Marcos, Steven D. Hawkins (Judy) of Green Bay and Cheryl Ann Hawkins of Omaha, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Andrew Hawkins (Katie), Emily Hawkins (Nick) and Crystal Hawkins; and her great grandchildren, Ivan, Ellie, Jack and Millie. She is also survived by her family and friends as a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Memorials in Marilyns name are suggested to the McCook Humane Society, the Museum of the High Plains in McCook, or to the Hillcrest Nursing Home Foundation.
