She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Porter and Laura Porter (Jacobs); her husband Delbert Maris; her children, Darlene Geihsler and Gary; her grandson Craig Geihsler; her brothers, Dale (Marie) and Ivan Porter; and her siblings-in-law, Cozetta Porter, Elaine Bley (Ervin), Jean Wach (Ron), Otto Blake and Ervin Maris (Sandra).
She is survived by: her sons, Gerald Maris (Debra) of Culbertson and Ron Maris of McCook; her grandchildren, Rod Geihsler, Lisa Johnson, Chris Maris (Melissa) and Richard Maris; her great grandchildren, Emily, Alexa Johnson, Avory Hunter (Brendan), Halee Maris, Gage Geihsler and Jaidon Kimball; her son-in-law Gene Geihsler; her siblings, Mildred Blake and Vernon Porter; and her nieces, Connie Kreutzer, Jane Foster, Shirley Rieners and Marie Baker. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel (607 Norris Ave, McCook, NE 69001). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the McCook E-Free Church (602 E 14th St, McCook, NE 69001).
