He was predeceased by : his parents, Lorence E. Sawyer and Dorothy Sawyer (Offner); his significant other Andrea L. Svoboda; and his brother Gary Sawyer. He is survived by : his children, Jason Sawyer of Portland, Oregon, Jessica (Jason "Bo" Bowman) of Omaha, Nebraska, Shelby (Joel Baker) of McCook and Chantel Sawyer (Garrett Miller) of McCook; his grandchildren, McKinnley, Phoenyx Bowman of Omaha and Jaxx Kalinski of McCook; his brother Donald (Shirley Sawyer) of McCook; and his mother-in-law Letha Svoboda.

Memorials are suggested to the family of Rodney Sawyer for future designation.
