He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Bellis and Frankie Bellis (Mann); and his brother-in-law Bernard Steward. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Bellis (Bredenkamp); his children, Drew Bellis (Abbey), Heather Stahr (David) and Todd Bellis (Christine); his grandchildren, Garrett, Dane, Beiker Bellis, Brodie, Teigin, Cambil Peterson, Cole, Ian Stahr, Kalin Rodgers and Zoe Barnes; his siblings, Anna May Steward, Carol Surber (Ron), Virginia Witte (Chuck), Dick Bellis (Susan), Louise Smith (Dave) and Danny Bellis (Sharon); and his sister-in-law Ann Sipma (Brian). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to the family for future scholarships at McCool Junction Public Schools.
