We announce the death of Dean S. Schwenka (Minden, Nebraska), who passed away on August 20, 2026, at the age of 68. Dean will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard "Dick" Schwenka and Donna Schwenka (Olsen). He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo of Minden; his children, Stacy Brass of Lincoln, Shannon Kuehn (Joel) of Heartwell, Colin Schwenka (Mary) of Heartwell, Andrew Schwenka and Christian Schwenka; his grandchildren, Alexis, Kenton, Aiden, Gianna, Isaac, Emerson, Caleb, Cole, Cade and Charli; his siblings, Dick Schwenka (Deb), Don Schwenka (Linda), Denise Sinsel (Chuck), Doug Schwenka (Linda) and Deeann Higgins (Tim); and his in-laws, Tom Ryan (Deb), Terry Ryan (Connie), Karen Stubbendeck (Kirk) and Julie Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dean's honor are kindly suggested to St. Gregory the Great Seminary (Seward), St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center (Lincoln), or Kearney County Health Services.
