He was predeceased by: his parents, Dwight James and Earlene James (Williams); his siblings, Darla Graham and Richard James; his sister-in-law Marjorie Reynolds; and his in-laws, George and Alma Peterson.
He is survived by: his wife Rene; his children, Rhonda Schledewitz (Jeff), Brian James (Kareen) and Nathan James (Kayla Van Hoosear); his grandchildren, James Schledewitz (Joanna), Austen James, Tayler James (Liz), Sydni Closson (Alex), Shayleigh Clarkson (Austin), Mia James, William James, Jack James, Aaliyah, Ricky, Giovanni, Everlee and Rogan James; his great grandchildren, Camden, Charlotte, Bennett, Thatcher, Hudson, Paxton and Hayden; his grandchildren, Maurice Walker and Willie Wilson; his siblings, Barbara James, Jennie Emerson and Jack; his brother-in-law Richard Mont; and his pet Mikey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
