He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvyn Gertsch and Loretta Gertsch (Filbert). He is survived by: his wife Jackie Gertsch of Monroe, NE; his stepdaughter Jessica Ewert (Joe); his stepgrandchildren, Emily, Kaitlyn Ewert and Paul Ewert; his stepson Jacob Studham (Karlie); his siblings, Boyd Gertsch (Tek) of Tucson, AZ, Craig Gertsch (Carol) of Monroe, NE and Melva Lundy (Thomas) of Tucson, AZ; his nieces and nephews, Michelle Shemek, Brandi Gertsch, Guy Gertsch (Kallie), Josh Gertsch and Stacy Gertsch; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Hannah Shemek, Macy Gertsch, Sydney Gertsch, Lily Gertsch, Garrett Gertsch and Lane Gertsch. He is also survived by Many aunts, uncles, & cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the First Church of Monroe (334 Gerrard Ave, Monroe, NE 68647).
