He was predeceased by : his parents, Burl Poteet and Martha Ruth Poteet (Miller); his wife Charlotte Marie Thomasson; and his siblings, Rocky Poteet and Virginia Poteet.

He is survived by : his sons, Ben Poteet of Nebraska City, NE and Tim Poteet of Nebraska City, NE; his granddaughter Kaylee Thomasson; and his great grandchild Oliver Koger.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Gude Mortuary (403 S 9th St, Nebraska City, NE 68410).
