He was predeceased by: his father Thomas E. Smith; Judith Smith. He is survived by: his mother Judith A. Smith (Rine); and his siblings, Mikel L. Smith of Council Bluffs, IA, Allen L. Smith of Council Bluffs, IA and Michelle L. McLaughlin (John) of Nebr. He is also survived by three nieces and one nephew; other family and friends.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Gude Mortuary (403 S 9th St, Nebraska City, NE 68410).
