“How sad to hear Verdes passing away. I am Dennis Mason and when Verdes lived in Elk Creek, NE, he and I were pals and he lived just across the driveway, West, from our house, in Elk Creek.. Later we got together when we both worked for the UPRR in Omaha. Probably in the 1980's. I Had often thought of looking him up to visit since our retirement. But sadly I waited too long. I have a card he sent me for my Birthday, dated 1945-Dec-22! I will save it for the family, if desired. My deepest”
